OES Electronic Newsletter Volume 14, Number 2, Mar. 16, 2017
OTC Asia 2018: Abstract due May 10, 2017.
The OTC Asia 2018 conference will be held at Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia from 20 to 23 Mar 2018. The conference theme is
Excellence in Asia. The conference is
very significant considering the current downturn in the Oil & Gas
Industry. It is an opportunity for technical experts and
researchers in the area of oceanic engineering to offer solutions that
would help to cut the cost of oil production. The technology of
autonomous platforms has reached a stage where offshore industry can
use them in real applications and could help to reduce cost of
production through automation and mitigating risks. Data
analytics and big data are soft aids which could help the offshore
industry in analysing and understanding a potential oil field before an
exploration could be started. There are many areas that have been
identified relevant to the conference. The details of conference
and also topic areas of interest can be found on the website http://2018.otcasia.org/page.cfm/Link=14/#PageAnchor14
